I can't wait to see this plane introduced and from what I can tell it's coming soon. The only thing they have in common is that classic mustang shape and designation "P-51". And I don't blame them because every aspect of this new Mustang is different from the D. The P-51H looks almost nothing like the D and some question whether it's a Mustang or not at first glance. Sadly only four P-51Hs survive with two of them airworthy. After they were phased out of service in the 1950s like most warbirds the P-51H was scrapped in large numbers. The P-51L was supposed to be the Dallas version of the H but with a better engine and it looked to be the best Mustang of all but the orders were canceled after VJ Day.
P51h war thunder full#
There are rumors that during its test flights it wasn't flown to its full performance so it's flight characteristics are most likely better than what the current stats show but hey that's just a rumor. Oh did I mention that the max speed is 490mph? It was lighter, faster, more maneuverable and easier to maintain than the P-51D. It didn't fight in Korea because they weren't in huge numbers as I said only 555 were made and because it wasn't as rugged as the P-51D but instead was issued to national guard units.

Production was just ramping up with 555 delivered when the war ended. The P-51H was designed to complement the P-47N as the primary aircraft for the invasion of Japan, with 2,000 ordered to be manufactured at Inglewood. If it were put in game it would probably be at around 5.3 or higher and would most likely come after the F-82. 50cals and 10 5in rockets or 2 1000lbs bombs and a range of 1200 miles. It made it to some squadrons by the summer of 1945 but none of the crews got trained with it to see combat. The P-51H was the final production Mustang, embodying the experience gained in the development of the XP-51F and XP-51G aircraft. Who else can't wait for the P-51H? Ok first things first I'm not trying to sound like a freedumb when I say this but this plane was one of if not the best piston engined plane ever made.
